“Dear brothers and sisters, the Church loves you! Be an active presence in the community, as living cells, as living stones.”
Homily 5/13, Pope Francis

The Center for Mission offers many opportunities to learn about our sisters and brothers in mission diocese, to practice the Catholic social principles of solidarity and subsidiarity, to “walk with the crucified of today” (Passionist Volunteers).

Some of these activities for adults and parishes include mission trips, partnership trips, conferences, events and hearing about our brothers and sisters in overseas mission through the Mission Cooperation Plan. Children have the opportunity to expand their Catholic perspective through parish activities like CRS Rice Bowl, the annual Writing Contest, and Living Water. Most activities and programs have elements of education, prayer, almsgiving and opportunities for engagement.

Occasionally, the Center for Mission hosts speakers who share their experiences in mission, or other mission activities like Catholic Relief Services.  In June 2016, Lane Bunkers from CRS shared inspiring stories of their work in Kenya and Somalia.
