How we care for creation is absolutely tied to how we treat our environment, creation of God. Pope Francis states, “All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents” (Laudato Si, 14). The Center for Mission has created and supervises a regional Care for Creation team reflecting this need to care for our environment.

The team consists of Parish volunteer leaders from the Archdiocese of St Paul and Minneapolis. The team’s mission is to educate and promote environmental concerns, as tied to Catholic social teachings, and encourage activities related to the mission. Certainly, the Pope’s encyclical, Laudato Si, provides insight and inspiration for Care for Creation activity.

Programs, initiatives and resources are continually being posted and communicated. Examples in the future: 10-week Young Adult program, Parish Care for Creation retreat, etc.
